YAY!

So glad you liked Switch!  :D  It was totally recommended to me by MANY friends so they are responsible and deserve your blame love. (You guys know who you are!)  Kay was AWESOME and made me a post with some great suggestions, too. Check them out!

Here are some I liked that maybe you will like, too.  I am VERY new to McCoy/Kirk myself so these are just what I have found so far:

Academy & Pre-Movie Fic:
I am a huge madfan of academy fic. I cannnnt even aaaahhh-

These Kids, They Lost Their Graces by Affectingly
SO lovely and just the right amount of gently hurty + amazing with a happy ending, too.
A still more glorious dawn awaits by Canis_takahari
A short morning after fic where awkwardness is averted by cuddling. Dawww~
Stars Align by lindmere
This one made me laugh out loud, it’s really cute.  It also veers a little into movie & post-movie but is mostly Academy.

* Switch by Ceres_Libera (longfic)
MASSIVE but one you cannot miss. This is the one people keep talking about when they talk Kirk/McCoy. This one goes from Academy to Post Movie and just…Get tissues, get some hot tea, sink into this fic with everything you got.  It’s incredibly moving and hurts just right and ends beautifully.
 

AU Fics:
I didn’t think I would like AUs and then I read awesome ones and now I love them and can’t control myself. 

Run (I’m a Natural Disaster) by Canis_takahari
“Bones falls in a ditch. Jim helps him out of it.”  So. Yeah. This is a million pounds of adorable and also IT HAS SEQUELS. Two of them.  Maybe more.
Fade by Canis_Takahari (longish fic)
FBI agent AU.  Emotional wringing out and awesome ending.  Aw yis. 
Aftershocks by Canis_takahari (longishfic)
Okay so. Okay. So. This fic. SO GOOD. I can’t- It’s a literal AU. Just read it. It tore me up then put me back together and was such a satisfying read. It all comes together in the end.  Bring tissues.  
* Our Life Is Not a Movie, Maybe by jlh  (longfic)
Super long fic, perfect and awesome and Jim is a director and Bones is a script writer and they make a movie together.  The end will just make you wiggle around and grin and want to hug everyone and cheer. It’s a great slow build and YOU fall in love with Jim and Bones as much as they do with each other.
* Unwritten by by ayalesca  (longfic)
Jim is a well known YA fiction writer who works at a publishing house. Bones is a writer who fell off the map years ago and Jim goes to track him down because he loves his writing.  This is another longish one and you will NOT regret the time investment. Some incredibly sad stuff happened here but the author handles it beautifully, makes you ache keenly without feeling utterly gutted. Part of what makes me love this is the amazing and passionate way Jim & Bones discuss writing.  Totally gorgeous. :)

Movie/Post Movie Fics:

Falling Off the Face of the Earth by Affectingly
Awesome post-movie fic. Bones contemplating the future and suddenly Kirk.
All-Time Favorite by Mardia
Bones starts making new friends, Jim doesn’t know how to feel about this. This also has a lot of Bones & Uhura friendship moments that I loooove.
The Ballad of Fort McCoy by Seanchaidh
Kirk decides there need to be ship-wide intermurals to help boost morale.  Bones gets dragged into it and then other crew members realize that Bones is kind of a hottie.  SUPER cute and awesome.

Kinky Stuff & Mirror!Fic:
So. Yeah. Also I love mirror!fic, it’s such a fun thing…

These Inconvenient Fireworks by Affectingly
Okay so. This is super kinky. But it’s REALLY a character piece about Kirk and Bones and treating it realistically. IDK. I don’t want to spoil it for you by saying.  If you need to know EXACTLY what is in it before you go there just shoot me an ask.  It’s awesome though, seriously, and the surprise of what happens makes the fic awesome. I don’t even like that kink and it was amazing.
Misunderstanding by Canis_Takahari
“How DID Bones get to Iowa if his ex-wife took everything in the divorce?” I almost put this in Academy Fics but  it does have an edge of kink so here ya go.  There is a sequel with McCoy/Kirk.

Awesome character study with Bones as a badass in the Mirror!verse.

Okay this is Jim/Bones with a side of Pike. It’s…just.  Yeah. SO. Jim bets his ass in poker. Bones antes up. Things happen. Sexy things.

Tonight (I’m Fucking You) by Canis_takahari
It’s Tony Stark/McCoy. I KNOW. It winds up being McCoy/Kirk in spirit and it’s hilarious and just so silly and awesome because TONY and yeah. The set up is awesome. There is a sequel, too.
