Thanks to the wonderful organization of nightreveals (and many others), we are pleased to announce the Teen Wolf Saves the Wolves campaign!
As the Teen Wolf fandom is so active across the board, we thought we could put all of that creative energy towards a charitable cause. (Salty) specifically pointed out a struggling wolf center in Portugal, the Iberian Wolf Recovery Center (IWRC), which is having to buy the land their center is on for $250,000. They are currently on Indiegogo, a fund-raising site, and have about $50k of the needed 250k with only four days to go. The Director of the IWRC, Dr. Fonseca, said, “If we can’t raise all of the money, we can pay part of the sum and continue fundraising to continue paying the rest.” (x)
Obviously quick fundraising is our number-one goal here, so donating (click the photo to go to the site!) is probably the best way to help short-term. But, if you’re on a limited-budget (like me!/o\) and still want to get involved, here are some things you can do:
Participate in Wolf Awareness Week (Oct. 14-20): Make icons, gifs, banners, art, fic, whatever! Use teenwolfawareness2012 as the tag for all related posts.
Auction your work for donations: Offer commissions (art/fic/gifs/etc) for monetary donations (example: every $10 donation gets 1-2k fic). (Eventually we may make a collective post or community for this, but due to the time crunch we wanted to set something up right away.)
Reblog this post: Even if you aren’t interested in participating (or are fandom-lurker-only), please help spread the word! One of your followers’ followers might be interested—you never know :)
